Special General Conference Decision
Our Home is Open!
Our congregation does not agree with the decision of the Special General Conference convened in St. Louis last month. This Special General Conference decided to follow the Traditional Plan. St. Andrew's aligns with the Western Jurisdiction's support of the One Church Plan. The One Church Plan gives autonomy to individual congregations regarding acceptance of all of God's children including members of the LGBTQi community. St. Andrew's is a Reconciling Congregation, and we welcome ALL of God's children, looking past our differences. We stand for equality, justice, and inclusiveness; and against injustice of any kind--including racial, sexual, and economic--and exclusionary practices.

Church Reopening
Dear Siblings in Christ,
Thank God!  We are opening the church for in-person worship service on the first Sunday in June –     June 6, 2021.
We are grateful to God for abiding with everyone of us through the trying time of pandemic.  We lift up our prayers for those who have suffered from the pandemic in so many, horrific ways.  We are thankful for those who contracted the Virus, yet recovered.
I keep all of you in my prayers to overcome the threat from this pandemic.  Let us continue to practice the safety protocols.  No vaccine provides 100% protection from the virus, and there are still those variants against which the efficacy of the vaccines has not been determined.
During the early part of reopening, we will need to adhere to safety protocols.  Each one of us has a different sense of safety, and a different degree of resistance against the virus.  Some may feel the safety protocols may be an overkill.  Yet let us not dictate how safe others should feel, by one's own sense of what safety should constitute.  There may be some of us who are of the weaker composition, and more susceptible to things which normally do not bother rest of us healthy folks.
If it has not yet been two weeks from the second dosage of the vaccine, I encourage to keep up your   defense against the Virus.  If it has been past two weeks from the last dosage, please be considerate of others, and do wear a mask and keep the safe distance, in order to protect yourself and others.
We will not mandate any rules, but ask everyone to be considerate and careful.  We want to have our worship service be undistracted by anything, and we want to focus fully on the Word of God, prayer, praise, and thanksgiving on June 6th.
Therefore, we ask you the following: if you are coughing, run a fever, or do not feel well in general, please stay home.  There will be no Sunday school or child care until July.  Also, please visit with one another outside, not inside the sanctuary or narthex.
We feel that things will ease more and more, as the days go by.  Let us not hasten to return to normal, but let us do all we can to make sure even the least of us is protected by our vigilance.
I look forward to worshiping the Lord with you.
In Christ our Redeemer,
Pastor David

Did You Know We Have Sign Language Translation?
At Saint Andrew's United Methodist, our doors are open to every soul seeking to welcome Jesus Christ into their hearts. We foster a community where we teach individuals to show their love for The Lord and for one another through worship and community service. Members of our church are those who build relationships with our family through community groups, volunteer activities, worship services or learning. We welcome all individuals seeking God’s love. We teach the doctrines of our Savior in prayer, and invite you to open up your hearts and allow his grace to penetrate into your soul and being. Pop in today and join our community.
